6 Recent Improvements to GBCTechTraining Processes Due to Covid-19

August 18, 2020

Since March, the GBCTechTraining team has seen a number of changes to our processes, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.  We have had to rethink the ways that a number of our resources are delivered, including how students access their program materials and documents.  Physical materials and documents can no longer be sent out due to the closure of GBC’s physical location and mail room—so we have had to take these materials fully digital!  Here are six ways that GBCTechTraining has updated and improved our processes since the beginning of Covid-19.

Download your eCertificate after you Graduate

Prior to Covid-19, when you completed your GBCTechTraining program you would be mailed a physical copy of your Certificate of Completion.  With staff working remotely and the mail room closed, however, we have had to put sending these physical documents on hold.  Students who complete their program now have access to an official eCertificate.  The eCertificate will be available online within two weeks of program completion, and can be accessed via your Student Records account.  These documents are official, and can be used in the same ways as your printed copy would have—and not to worry, you will still receive your physical copy when the college reopens.  Check out this blog for steps to access your eCertificate when you complete your program.

Download your eTranscript when you Graduate

Similar to Program Completion Certificates, official transcripts are no longer able to be mailed; instead, they are available via the online Student Records account as Official eTranscripts.  The cost for eTranscripts is $15, and the request will take 2-3 business days to process.  Official eTranscripts can be used in the same way as physical transcripts.  For instructions on how to access your Official eTranscripts, check out this blog.

Receipts for your Payments to GBC

After you have paid for your program or modules, you will receive a receipt of payment.  In the past, this receipt has been mailed to you within 7-10 days.  However, the receipt will now automatically be emailed to you as a .pdf file one business day after your registration has been processed—you do not have to request the receipt.

All Curriculum and Program Content is Now Directly Downloaded

Newly registered students will now receive their program content as a digital download, rather than on a USB.  This is much more convenient, as you will no longer need to wait for the courier to arrive to begin working with the program content.  You can download the content and begin your program within hours of your registration being processed… whenever you are ready!  The system requirements for the program remain the same, with the need for a Windows-based operating system.  Head to this blog for a step-by-step guide on downloading your digital program content.

We’ve Expanded our Student Support

Not only is the program content more accessible to students, but GBCTechTraining has made Student Support more accessible with the addition of Sunday Support Hours.  The Support Team is still available to students Monday through Saturday, but now students who require assistance on Sunday can receive it without delay. Sunday hours are 9am-5pm EST, and students can reach a Support Consultant by emailing support@gbctechtraining.com or calling 1-866-279-1457.  Students can reach out to the Support team about administrative and technical issues, module content, or specific program-related questions.

Info Packs are all Digital

Finally, for students considering a GBCTechTraining program, Info Packs will now also be sent out as a digital .pdf file.  The digital Info Packs contain the same information as the physical version, just in a different format.  When you request an Info Pack, you will receive an email with a link to your .pdf file.

Though Covid-19 has brought with it many changes to the way we operate here at GBCTechTraining, we have been able to make changes so students have not been impacted—in fact, many of these changes have streamlined and improved the student experience!  If you have any questions about these changes, or would like additional information on GBCTechTraining programs, please contact us at 1-888-553-5333 to speak with a Program Consultant.
